Restoration Christian Academy is a Christian school that has served the families of the Greater New Orleans for 16 years. We are neither a home school nor a traditional style school. You could say we combine the best of both worlds. We are very small with a low teacher/student ratio that helps us get to know our students and their families. And yet we are a typical school with scheduled class times, break times, organized P.E., organized sports, social interaction etc. For families looking for the best of both worlds, we are the perfect fit. We then combine these qualities with a Biblical Worldview type of education helping to instill Godly values and morality with the goal of seeing each student develop excellent character.

Traditional instruction is where an instructor will stand before a class usually lecturing and writing on a greenboard or blackboard. The instruction that day is based on a lesson plan for the entire class and is taught on the level of the C or average student in the class. The students take notes and complete reading and writing assignments both in and out of class. Each student moves along at the same pace learning at the same rate without regard to each student's ability to learn and comprehend at a different speed. The academically advanced and motivated student generally looses interest and eventually becomes bored. The academically challenged student finds it too difficult to keep up and eventually looses interest and in many cases gives up. If a student is sick, that student must make up the work for the day(s) missed and try to get notes from a friend.
In our individualized program, each student's lesson plan is for that student only. Students can work faster in subjects he/she finds easier providing more time for subject matter needing additional attention.

Your child is given an academic diagnostic test. This test is given after enrollment and is NOT used to determine acceptance into our program but used as a guide to determine his/her academic performance level.

Absolutely Not. We are neither a "HomeSchool" nor a traditional school. We have our own high school code given by the State of Louisiana. We simply offer the families of our community a more "homey" feel with a low teacher/student ratio and individualized instruction. When students complete the high school curriculum they receive a high school diploma which for 11 years has been accepted by the military and every college and university where our students have applied. In many ways, we feel we offer the best of both the "HomeSchool" and the "Traditional School" style of education.

For children to grow and become successful in their adult lives parents MUST be active and involved in their children's daily lives. Chidren receive the importance of school from their parents. Parents and guardians are required to sign a contractual agreement stating they will fulfill the obligation to get on their child's laptop and see their accomplishments that day and if homework is required for the day.

Graduates of Restoration Christian Academy receive a high school diploma...not at GED. For 16 years, students receiving a diploma from our school have gone into the military and been accepted at every university where our students have applied for entrance.

Because our students can very easily work ahead, so any student who wants to and is academically and motivationally capable can. For example...if a student finishes 1 1/2 years of work their freshman year and then finishes 1 1/2 years of work their sophomore year, then by the end of their sophomore year they would have actually completed their freshmen, sophomore and junior years of high school and only have their senior year left.
